I'm useing a boss br532 4 track mixer and i got a mxl condencer mic with phantom power hooked up to the 4 track and putting the mic in front of my acoustic in the right places like the 12th fret and been recording it but when i record it it sounds ok but i want a better sound a more clear sound it seems all the highs mids and lows are not right and there are all kinds of setings that you can use on a br532 i was wondering if anybody had a br532 and could tell me what they set there settings on when recording miced acoustic?

First....is your room treated? How big is your room? Is there carpet on the floor? Wood? Tile?

I would look at your room first. Second, how does the instrument sound? How does it sound in the room? If you answered good...then you are in business.

I wouldn't mic the soundhole....don't do that unless you want a whole lotta boomy garbage acoustic.

Does your 4 track have any EQ presets on it that are engaged? I'd check into that. Try recording your voice into the mic in the the same room you've tried recording the acoustic. Does that sound nasty?

I'm just trying to pass on some deductive logic to find the solution.

yeah

I know where to put the mic and it sounds good and i have eq settings but thats the prob i dont know where to set the lows the highs the mids the bass and the treb ive been trying to just mess around with them but just cant get it right the sound that im getting is like as if the guitar is in a small room i cant get that upfront sound that i want and im recording in a room with carpet on the floor and the walls are sheetrock. "Now" ive recorded some songs and they sound great in the same room but i cant neaver get that sound back the way i want it because i forgot the settings lol so if you guys have any info on what i can set my highs, mids, and lows on for recording miced acoustic with a boss br532 4 track it would be awesome or any other info you could give would be cool .thanx...
