I'm thinking of making my own little half rack space S/PDIF patchbay. Depending on the state of flux my little studio is in I have had as many as 5 devices with digital IO. Pulling my rack stand out to use the ports is a pain. Fabricating the thing isn't a problem. I am wondering about the propensity of signal degradation with digital transmission. Is it something to look for and be aware of? If so, where the heck would I find an spdif(fem.) to spdif(fem.) interconnect?
I have this rca(fem) to rca(fem.) stereo connector I had used to record audio from the tv once, since its way the hell over there ---> But that isn't exactly correct, and I'm too proud of my all Mogami/Monster cabling to use anything from radio shack anymore.

Thoughts anyone?
