Here's my problem.

I came into the production studio this morning after a 3 day weekend and discovered a problem with our Yamaha O2R: I couldn't record with it, or hear anything coming out of it. I tried to record with a microphone but got nothing. I put on an mp3 file and tried to play it through the desk. I noticed the signal light (beneath the gain control) was lighting up, but neither this channel nor the stereo channels were metering on the meter bridge. I was the last person to use the desk last week and no settings were adjusted on the channel or in the master area. I have done a scene memory recall, pressed the flip button, and played with most of the buttons in the master section. Again I must point out that I used the desk last and did not adjust anything out of the ordinary. It seems to me like its a routing problem or something. Would love some help on this.

Assuming you have tried power cycling and have done all the obvious checks for channels and master being muted, I would start by using the oscillator (Utility menu). Assign it to the stereo bus and slowly wind up the level. Watch the main meters to see if there is level there and then check to see if there is any output on the main stereo outs.

If that works, then check that the channels really are patched to the mix bus. Work backwards towards the inputs. Try using optical inputs. Try injecting at the channel insert points.
