Best type of Mic for recording acoustic instruments in live situation

Forums

OK, so I am building a setup in my home studio, which would allow me to record mainly percussive acoustic instruments like shakers, glockenspiel, and various types of ethnic or homemade instruments, in a live situation. Since I already use two condensers for vocals in the same setup and also play electric guitars "in the box", I want this mic to minimally pick up on all of these.

Builder recommendations in Eastern US-CT: vocal isolation booth, ~7'x12'

Forums

I have an 8'x12' corner available within a larger room (with 8' ceiling) for a vocal isolation booth.

Any builder recommendations in the Eastern Connecticut area who can get it quiet in there? I'm on the fence about doing it myself - if I can avoid construction I'd like to.

Thanks!

Can a JBL 4206 crossover frequency of 2.6 kHz be changed to a Crossover Frequency of 2.8 kHz

Hi, I'm interested in buying some JBL speakers but the seller has said that the crossovers have been changed from the original JLB 4206 ones to JBL 4208 crossovers. He said that the speakers sound fine.
