Ought To Be In Heaven
Forums
An update of a jazzy-funky kinda thing that my client and I have been working on for his album.
I'm experimenting with using a different pan law in Samp... curious as to how this might effect the mix and the translation to other member's playback systems...

Old RME fireface 800 used, is it worth it ?
Forums
Hi guys !
Like some already know I have some troubles with my interface and I'm checking to change it
I was to wait for the new PreSonus studio 192 but I just saw an add for a FF800 at 1k, seems to be clean.
IS the 800 worth it even after all those years or should I go for the PreSonus.. ?

New to recording with an RC-505
Forums
Hey guys. New to the forums here and kind of recording in general. I've scoured the internet all over the place and can't seem to find any good resources on a proper way to input and record a Boss RC-505 loop station to a computer to record cleanly. What I'm trying to do is record primarily vocals and beatboxing, so no instruments.

Sharing Samp's GUI
Forums
I like to master CD projects, so I did a lot of setup to leave Samplitude with a "specialist" environment in this type of purpose.
This is my favorite GUI, I use 99% of the time:

Synchronizing VU-Meter & AM|Munition Metering
Forums
I would like to synchronize the parameters of both Samplitude (VU) and the AM | Munition, in order to make both have the same measurement on the same real time.
I tried to change the decay time and peak hold (AM), but the graphics do not reflect the same reading of the audio at runtime.
Advice needed: Recording Two Violas in a Very Wet Church
Forums
Hi all,
The next field recording project is recording the 44 Duos for Two Violas by Bela Bartok.
It will take place either in a massive stone, Notre Dame-style cathedral, or it's smaller chapel. Both are VERY WET, acoustically, with a reverb that lasts many seconds.
Which is more difficult - recording or mixing?
Forums
It should be assumed that mixing tracks that were recorded well to begin with makes for smoother mixing sessions.
But which do you personally find to be more difficult (or, accordingly, easier) -
Getting the sounds rights to begin with during the Tracking stage?

How To Pick A Shotgun Mic
Forums
Since there aren't any stores (at least near me) where you can walk in and test a bunch of shotgun mics I was wondering a person decides on which one to buy. Reading reviews and watching You Tube videos is one thing but to really hear how it works you have to be there. If I'm going to spend $300 on a mic I want to hear it first, probably on some of my gear.
