Class A mic preamps?
What does something have to have or be to be classified Class A? Does it pretty much guarantee decent quality or is it more of a marketing thing?

the digi 001
i have been using the digi 001 in my home project studio now for about 4 weeks and i can honestly say that i am totally impressed with its power to produce high quality demos. verbs, delays, compressors, eq's, and many more pluginsall at your finger tips in real time. i have been recording demos for a friend in orlando and the quality is great. just add a good condenser mic and some talent.

Additional Expenses
Hi. In a two weeks i'm going to be buying a digi 001 system (933mhz pIII; i already have the computer) and was wondering what are some of the additional expenses that come with such a system. Like plugins what pluginswill i need to buy? I mean i'm obviously going to need a decent reverb, eq, and compressor, but do these come bundled in with it?

API 7800 w/ other modules?
Once the API is actually available, it is designed to be the master section of a small console made from 7600 channel strips. Is there any reason that it wouldn't work just as well with anyone's collection of various outboard modules? (Assuming that you wire everything up properly with respect to levels, etc.)

ATI 8MX2 Mic Preamp/Mixer
As ATI is the parent company to API (I know this means little, yet it does mean something) - I have been checking out this preamp for my multi-channel needs for both live and studio needs
nice format, mixer and limters would be really handy - small, etc etc - heard great reviews, yet havent heard and cant find one around here to try.

These two consoles appear to use the same input modules, are their signifigant sonic differences between the two designs?

Fletcher, how about Trident A Series Pre-Eq ?
Your opinion about Trident-MTA "A" Range Module and Trident-MTA Series "80B" Module and comparison with Neve, Api and other famous circuits ?
Hard drive from PC to VS880
Hey Curve (or anyone else)
I've got a spare 6 gig hard drive that I've removed from my PC and would like to install it in my mate's VS880. It still contains some PC stuff. Will the VS format it like it is. or do I have to wipe it first? Also, is there anything else I need to know before I do this?
Thanks
Mark
