Damn.
Well I have done it now.
Last night I was screwing around with a utility that finds and deletes duplicate files.
Guess what...Erased part of the op system and that hard drive will not boot. Not even with a boot disk.
Ok...good news..
Some background..

harddrive question
I'm currently setting up a small daw in my home and since I don't have the cash to spring for scsi I'm going the IDE route. I'm going to get 2 harddrives. One for os and apps and the other for audio only. My question is will slaving the audio drive give me any problems? I've read some articles that said yes and others that said no.

JBL LSR28p, anyone?
I have the chance to get them quite cheap. .
around 1100USD including shipping.
So far I have Tannoy Reveal (passive) powered with a Studer A68, and a piar of PMC AB1, that don't seems to couple well with my room lately (that is, after I got the Reveal).
Anywa, I've heard some good things about the JBL.
anyone?
ronnie

API Compressors
OK so I am thinking about getting an API lunchbox. I never hear any recormend or speak of using an API compressor. For that matter of all the tracks I have gotten to mix I have never seen one on a track sheet. Opinions on this one.

How the pros reduce noise?
Ok so I engineered my first major label record. the single I did is all over MTV yadada they are getting big. The guy who mixed it Michael Patterson did a great job. So i just got a copy of the album and there is a couple of tracks on the record that were so noisey it was unbelievable.

wiring hell - Switchcraft longframe plugs
OK, we all realize that audio electronics wiring is done at painfully small scale, especially as we get older, it all seems to get even smaller. But these damn Switchcraft longframe patch cord plugs have got to be the worst.

In 3 words...
Describe how you feel when you're finished a great (or what you are pretty sure is great) mix. You must do it in 3 words. No more, no less.
Do not look at the other answers, think about it and put your own answer, then you may read the others.
