for those who freelance, we all build our own stashes of gear - choice investements since facilites have the main tools to work with, yet could one be comfortable enough to go in and use all the tools given to you to get the sounds in your head?

I'm building a new PT/DP rig and was wondering... what's the best choice for a wordclock master these days? I've used Aardsync boxes in the past but I hear there are some cheaper, and maybe better, alternatives now. Lucid? Rosendahl? Or should I get a wordsync DA for my AD-8000 and use that as the master clock?

Hi I read the posts on the AMEK Pure Path and was curious, does any one have any opinions on the Summit/Neve MPE-200 preamp/EQ? It looks like the perfect companion for a Pro Tools system(analog Eq's with digital/midi recall).

AES31, the newest buzzword in pro audio.

Below is the bulletin issued by the AES Chapter in L.A. which is presenting AES 31 as the subject for their meeting on 31 July.

it's a bit unclear from the Crane Song website, so i'm curious if the currently shipping unit has:

a) 96k capability for all dig. outputs...and

b) the headphone jack?

. and if not... as a guestimate, could one expect them before, say, xmas?

I was wondering if anyone out there has heard reports on this set-up and if it would be a worthwhile upgrade from a PIII 800mghz system?

I know first hand that mixing inside a DAW is a sonic compromise, but my question is this:

Please post your name, and the format you would need the multitracks to be in for mixing. If you can accomodate more than one format, put them down. Also post the maximum number of tracks you can realisticaly work with (i.e. 16, 24, 32, 48, infinitite)

I need to know the format the recordings are on, and see the track sheets. I don't want pictures of the original tracksheet, just a list of the tracks and their original names. If it's called Fred's psychadealic guitar then that's what I want to see.

Do not include mix notes. That sort of defeats the purpose.

You should list your tracks in a post, like this.
