Wire Strippers
Yes I know this is a menial little question. I really hope someone answers it though :( .
I'm teaching myself how to build cable. I bought 1500 feet of Canare L-4E5AT foil shield mini star-quad. My current pair of wire strippers severs the wire strands or hacks the wire in two.

Red Book CDs - 2s gap too long
Pardon my inexperience... I want to "master" my own project for now... is there a way to produce a red book compliant CDR with less than 2 sec. gaps between tracks? (Old guys - remember LZep's Heartbreaker/Livin'Lovin'Maid segue?). Can this be done in compliance with Red Book. I'm using Sonic Foundry's CD Architect and it seems to require 2s.
Thanks

DSD - Direct Stream Digital
It appears that Sony and Phillips are at it again, with the new DSD format. Can anyone tell me what the implications are here? Are we all going to have to re-tool our studios to keep up with this technology? It seems to be rolling right over all the PCM technology advances that have been made.

Tape Emulation vs. . Tape
I bought a Pro Tools system after working 15 years with a board and tape machine. As mixerman has said, Pro Tools proved to be a sonic compromise for me, so I have partnered up with a fellow and now we got the rig hooked to a Neotek Elite and some good outboard with Apogee D/A.
