Mackie Assumes Distribution of Soundscape Products
August 20th, 2001: Woodinville, WA - Mackie Designs Inc. (NASDAQ: MKIE) today announced plans to assume all distribution activities for products developed by Sydec n.v. of Belgium under the Soundscape brand name. Sydec, a leading developer of advanced digital audio technology products, was acquired by Mackie earlier this year.

Voice and guitar in the mix, one track each, nothing more. Is it typical to pan them at all, is there any advantage to this? Or is it more usual to run 'em both down the middle?

How many times have you guys mixed something and thought, do I really need all this compression? Should I have more compression? Is this song good or do I just like the compression?
Thoughts, flames, etc? Don't tell me what your favorite compressor is.

Ok, I'm gonna muddy the water around here. I want to know what everybody thinks about dig recording, Pro Tools in particular.

thats the scenario - band was in, engineer and producer tracked the songs, did their overdubs, pack up the tape/drives - and call you in to mix the album at another house.
