Digidesign needs to jump on the 2001 boat and allow us PC users our due. A 1 Ghz processer (with lots of RAM) can do just about anything a TDM system can do. Why are they so against making a system like this, hell the software is what $4K street price, they would BE CONNECTING WITH A WHOLE LEVEL OF MARKET THAT THEY HAD NOT PREVIOUSLY TOUCHED YET.

I'm looking for 2 original Neumann boxes for 2 M 49's I just got. They do not have to match each other, just be original, good to excellent condition boxes. Anybody?

Does anyone know if there are any softsamplers (like for use with Nuendo or Cubase) that work in Windows 2000 yet?

I have worked on a lot of different systems, by SSL, Neve, Trident and others, and notice that there are MANY opinions on carrying the ground wire in a cable.

I am wondering about advice any here could give me, or even opinions for that matter...

O.K., so I got my MCI 2"24trk, a Pro Tools rig, about 15 or so good mics, a decent selection of outboard gear and preamps, and the last thing I need to open my place up is the console to run it all through. I was wondering what people used to use back in the day for stereo Classical recording in the field (in the days before dat)... I already have two channels of dolby SR lying around the house...

Welcome aboard John! Cubase is one of the major system out there. I've been thinking of buying it. The three systems that I think are worth checking out are Logic, DP and Cubase.

I 've been trying to render track in my projects.

I currently do not have a good mic preamp. I was wanting some ideas on what to get started with for around $1500. The only thing I've found so far is a Manley mono unit for around $1300. What is thought about this unit? What would be better. Keep in mind that whatever I get will be my "go to" box for a few months at least. I am looking to send Snare, Acc Guitar, and vocals through it.
