I'm looking for an analog volume control knob to put between my Firewire soundcard (MOTU 896mk3) and Active monitors (Focal Twin6)
I don't want to just lower the volume in my DAW or on the soundcard because it'll reduce the bit depth resulting in a lower quality signal at the DA stage of my soundcard. I'd like to keep all 24bits in use.

I've never experienced this problem before but while live, and after recording, I get sort of a crackling sound with the vocals.

I'm using Avid M-Audio mini (with a cardioid condenser mic) with garageband. I'm thinking maybe I damaged the mic while transporting it but I didn't drop it or anything

So as part of 2013's plan to get OTB as much as possible I got myself a Midas Venice F24. It's my first ever mixing console and I wanted to make sure to get the best I could.

I whant to start some bass guitarr and some snare and kick samples, i dont have a studio but i have a fairly large rehearsal room with lots of mics most Shure57, my audio interface is a Focusrite 2i4, the rehearsal room have 2 mixing console 1 digital, Yamaha 01v96 and an analogic Behringermix console that i dont remmember the model,

Just wondering if this recording is good enough for a press kit?
It's my band, recorded during rehearsal.

It was done through a Behringer mixer into 2 delta 1010lt cards.

There was a good bit of bleed through with the percussion. We're planning on doing some more recording and trying some different mic placements.

Its mic month! I love this video. Royer is so real.

Audio-Technica Ribbons look interesting. Anyone have the opportunity to demo either of these?
