Send data CD-R or 1/4" to be mastered?
I'm recording on Protools, then putting my final mix onto 1/4" tape.
Assuming the Mastering House has both computer editing and 2-trk tape machine, should I take them a 1/4" tape or a CD with the stereo files on it and have them dump it to tape (cuz they might have a 1/2")?
Just wondering what you guys might think.

Can Plosives Be Fixed in Mastering?
I have a couple of tracks with one or two plosives on the lead vocal that I just could not avoid in the tracking. Is there any way to correct this in the mastering process? I know that it would be better to avoid this and not have to "correct" it after the fact, but I was just wondering what you guys can do.
Thanks,
Rob

elements that can make audio dangerous to consumer equipment
Style and "quality" aside, what are the various elements that can make audio dangerous to consumer equipment.
For instance, how much bass is too much, can really high treble thrash speakers, what types of Wavesforms can trash equipment, etc.
where to do final dithering ?
hi folks, I'm pretty new to your board...
my first question is about dithering.
i think that i already pretty well know what it does, what its good for and all that stuff...
i am working on a DAW and want to know what program or application to use for the final bit depth change when dithering is applied.

Verifying true acoustical balance with speakers and amp.
:) A member just raised another question by trying to find a problem in his amp.
The question is, how can you be sure you have
(1) True electrical balance from the power amp?
(2) True acoustical balance from the speakers for each channel?
This question refers to each side of a system with respect to each other.

is the t.c. electronics finalizer good for mastering?
Is the T.C. Electronics Finalizer good for mastering? If not...what are some compressors, eq's,etc...that I could use to master with? Is a La2a good for mastering? :p
Question about SACD.
Hi,
I was wondering if the redbook-CD part on an SACD comes from the same premaster as the SACD part.(apart from the fact that the end-format is different offcourse.)
Reason I ask is because comparisons wouldn't be valid really if the one version is the original redbook master and the other a remastered version.
