I've been doing some reading on the K System and was curious to know if this system has become industry standard yet (or will in the future?). I really like the concept. I've noticed a few mastering plugins out there are offering K-metering (K12, K14 and K20) features as an alternative to DBFS.

Is there a cost effective VSO "AND" Key Change tool out there, either outboard or plugin ? I want to use on final mixes to speed up tempo without changing pitch and change the pitch/key without changing tempo.

I have been mastering to an Alesis Masterlink.

just got adobe audition 3.0 when i recorded with kristal i used a normal jack mic and plug it into the mic slot on the comp to record how do it do this with adobe

So is there a general rough guide for how much time to leave between tracks? Is it different between say movements of a composition verses different compositions? I've just been winging it going with the mood of the just finished movement/selection. I guess I'm looking for something more consistent if there is such a thing.

Hello people, I'm new here and dutch (so not so good in english). I've a question about recording vocals. When I record the vocals, it sound very dull. I want to hear the vocals clear and bright, so that it's the top layer of the song, and not that I can barely hear it.

I saw an ad in the paper saying they were selling a full set of mastering gear. No price, just says "call and negotiate". Its used but in perfect shape, they say.

Can you give me some remarks? How good a set up is this?
How much should I negotiate for?
What about the gear from Universal Audio? How good is it?

It appears there are a number of mastering studios today that also offer online service, where one sends their mix files via email, and then receives the master back through email without ever going to the mastering studio.

I've been wondering for the last couple of months why my last song on radio didn't so that clear and powerful as in the studio.

The I found out that quite a few people said that when you send/email or drop your song of for a radio station, that the overall RMS must not be over the -6db range...thus, don't compress or limit your song, but keep the song as is.
