So I am not at all ready to have my work mastered yet so please no PM's with offers. But I am wondering how much is a standard price to pay for having 5-7 songs mastered? I'm not sure if it would be best for me to find someone local to do it or just to find an online mastering service. Any info would be great.

Im making this song for my girlfriend and dont know anyone i cant get some good advice from so if you can all have a listen that would be great!

And please go crazy with pointing out all of the bad things with it, that way i will know how to make it better!

Thought you guys might be interested in reading this. We've had a little disagreement based on between how we advertise to prospective clients, and how we advise genuine clients who we have an interest in ensuring their product is the best it can be.

The former are faced with a multitude of misleading advertising, and the latter deserve honesty.

Hi guys. I need some mastering tips. First, how loud should a song be after it's mastered and stuff... Second, should I put the same master settings on each song on the album... And last, is there any other tips or tweaks any of y'all have to do to a song after it's mastered, or do you just leave it?

Hi all. I'm looking for input on mixing. I want to know where I should be setting my finished mixes to. Regardless of technique or any nonsense I'm just wondering about where you expect or more importantly want mixes to be in terms of db lvl.

I apologize if this is the wrong forum for this, but I wasn't sure exactly what would be the best board.

Anyway, we all know that something like Abbey Road sounds hundreds of times better on vinyl than on any remastered digital track, but does this same concept apply to modern day music?

I listen to tracks on SoundCloud and everyone's stuff is really loud. With my stuff I have to turn up my speakers. What are people using? Waves MultiMaximizer? Are they adding C4 compression to individual tracks?

I've been doing some reading on the K System and was curious to know if this system has become industry standard yet (or will in the future?). I really like the concept. I've noticed a few mastering plugins out there are offering K-metering (K12, K14 and K20) features as an alternative to DBFS.
