RE20 and SM7B - Proximity Effect and Variable D chat
I thought I'd look at the Electrovoice RE20 and the SM7B, both coming from the broadcast industry where radio in particular needed mics where the talent could move around a fair bit without the tone of the mics changing very much.
More Chinese mics - Two winners and an average one
I've been going through the mics that arrived while I was away, and one mic, I don't think people will like, but a couple that are quite cheap and very good!

Mics for cello recording
I spent a lot of time today on my cello quest. In the end, I picked the SM57, and the Sennheiser e906 (mainly because I'd been using 3 of them for a Queen Tribute - and they did quite well on AC30 amps. I went with the AKG 414 and the U87.
