Pencil Mic Suggestions
I'm looking to buy a stereo pair of pencil mics for acoustic guitars and drum overheads. My budget is around $1600. I've been looking at the Neumann km184s as well as the lower end Earthworks. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Benny

RODE nt5 matched pair
i know this topic has probably been done before but...
...i'm in the market for a set of small diaphram condensor mics to work as overheads/acoustic guitar/etc and looking to get a pair.
are the RODE nt5's a good starting point? if not, can i get any suggestions on other mics in this price range that'll do just as well? thanks.

Best live recording crowd mics?
Anyone have any suggestions for capturing the best crowd response. I used a Crown Stereo PZM mic from the FOH sound board, sounded terrible. I'm considering NT-5s behind the speakers, aiming towards the crowd?
suggestions on microphones (preferrably under $400 for the pair), and placement.
Thanks,
Ryan

Why shouldn't you connect a mic to a patchbay?
Probably a dumb question!
Why shouldn't you connect a mic to a patchbay? I've heard that you shouldn't do this, but I can't think of why not. I'm not planning to do this, I just want to understand why it's supposedly a bad idea. Thanks.

outdoor live sound equipt w/ lavalier mics
Hello all!
So every year I do live sound for a summer camp theatre program, and they used to rent their sound from some dude, and had me come in to actually run the sound. Next year they'd like to ditch the rental guy and buy their own equiptment. That's where I need some assistance!

Field Recording Microphone(s)
Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a field-recording microphone, (or two for stereo). My main purpouse is to use it for field-recording purpouses, probably mostly indoors, and close-miked... Something multi-purpouse, direction... yet sturdy and good quality sound out of it.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Vocal mic suggestion
I am about to record a male vocalist who has the same tone, range and style as the main singer of the Gypsy kings.
I would like to know of a good mic in the $400. - $500 range. I will use UA 610 solo as my pre.
Merci a bunch!
