cleaning the diaphram on a condenser mic
I have a Neumann tlm 103, and was wondering if anyone knew about cleaning the diaphram. I was told by a local dealer here in san diego that Neumann will go through the mic and bring it back up to specs n all for $100.00. I'm not worried yet, but a decent ammount of dust is begenning to collect on the electrostatic diaphram.

internal acoustic guitar mic? What should i get?
I dont know if this is the irgh forum, but i figured i would ask.
I have an alvarez with the 600t electronics, which allows for the addition of an internal microphone. The input for the mic is a basic mini jack on the ybderside of the electronics. The unit does not provide phantom power, so it would have to be a Dynamic, or condensor with its own inline power...

so many mics to choose from...
Alright here's the deal. As some of you know, i've recently bought an ISA 428. I've also upgraded the entire studio to mogami cables.( my wallet is hurting from the cables. ) Now i'm looking to buy a good vocal mic for Rap and also some R&B Vocals. I'm current;y using a RODE nt1000 for my main vocal mic.

Anyone here ever rebuild a mic?
I have an Oktava MKL5000 and I've changed the valve several times. I have a further ten on their way from Ukraine that I want to try. Now with this particular mic, the 'skeletal' structure must be tightly screwed to tracks on the main circuit board, but after opening the mic so often, these tracks are worn away. Now I've decided to rebuild the main circuit board.

Microtech Gefell UMT 70S
I'm very curious about this mic. Over here it is not too expensive -one of the few audio products that is cheaper in Europe. I'm very curious about the M7 capsule that MG uses, especially in this case, as it's a solid-state mic. Opinionswould be much appreciated.

Mic/Pre vs. . Square Wave
I am looking for a new drum mic preamp and possibly mics, so I have lately been very interested in transient response. The question came to my mind (albeit more theoretically interesting than practical), what microphone/preamp combination would do the best job of passing a square wave?
Any thoughts?

Has anyone recorded acoustic guitar with a RODE NT1000? Any experiences?
