Can anyone recommend me a affordable talkback mic (mic+stand+switch) to get for my home studio.

I plan to use a cheapo Behringer compressor to duck the background when the mic is enabled.

Situation: I can plugin my guitar straight to the mbox but I want to add my marshall ampifier inbetween! So I ran a 1/4 jack out of my line out out on the amp into the TRS jack of the mbox, I got no sound through the headphones I hope i didnt wreck anything, so I then decide to mic my cabinet with a sm 57 and just use the XLR connectors but I came up dead air again!1

I cant seem to post a photo but if you look on the inside cover of coltranes a love supreme there are 2 right over elvins drums.
They look like Neumann small diapragm condensers with a funny
globe ball basket on the ends ( like a big ball)
Any info is greatly appreciated, i.e. Make model, condenser?, transformer? tube?

i'm new here. I've recently finished my job at a recording college and have set about starting my own fun business up for recording demo's, voice over and mainly my own electronic production. I've got a half decent set of my own mics and can borrow from old work...but I'm finding all these funky 'new' mics I previously didn't know about.

First off, hey guys, I'm new to this forum. I hope I'm posting this in the right category.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Here's my problem:

I'm actually a graphics guy, but unfortunately my workplace lacks a decent audio engineer, so (amongst other positions) I attempt to fill the position from time to time.

I really have never done a mic kit. I will prolly go with the infamous Shure setup. I will use 4 mics for the toms/snare, one for the bass drum. .i am sure i need to mic the cymbals. so i was guessing 2 overhead mics would do(which ones are good and inexpensive).

Shure KSM 27 side-address condenser microphone with a cardioid polar pattern. I purchased this mic about a year ago. Things ran smoothly up until last week when i began noticing these constant little snaps and pops(they are more prevalent when i am not making noise into the mic).

I'm buying drum mics this month. .this is what I've decided on:

Snare: sm57 X2
Toms: Sennheiser e604 X3
Kick: D112

Should I be getting different mics?

I still need OH's. .I don't know what to use for that. I don't have much room in the budget, will samson's work ok? or some other cheap-o condensor?
