I was listening to this 3daudio CD and before looking at any of the names of mics I picked out this $800 Michrotech-Gefell M-930 as the best sounding. I've never heard of the company. Does anyone know anything about them? On the CD I liked it better than the Neumann's, Soundelux, etc. Do I just have a bad ear?

So what are you guys using as drum mics and pres?

Thinking about another dual pre for my Kick and Snare.
I a/b my pres with the kit and liked the Buzz and UA on everything. Although only have one spare UA channel and use the Buzz for Overheads.

Here goes mine.

I currently use a pair of U87s (new style) for Overheads and RODE NT1s (no sniggering please) for the room. I'm looking for a pair of mics to use mainly as room (XY) but to also be an occasional alternative to the 87s for OH (when using the 87s as room mics)

Yo, i get this sick hum from my speakers when i turn the mic on. Is it the mic or my computer? I get the same sound coming from my pc speakers and it's leaking into my recordings creating an awefull sound during each recording. It's a definate sound..you can't miss it...so ..help me out..holla back.

I have been offered a large membRane Peavey Tube microphone, has any of you cats any experience with this microphone that you please could share?

Is it worth considering at all or is it just so-so?

What is the most over-hyped over-priced mic on the market?

Anyone tried these? I currently use a Neumann TLM 103 which I like a lot but wish to add a new option. I was considering the BLUE Mouse, but these (RODE NTV or NTK and the SP T3) sound interesting. Or are they a step down from what I'm using. Mostly Male Vocal use.

so i just ordered a soundelux U95s, and i've heard it's heavy as hell. i'm a small time guy, and this will be my first serious tube mic. what kind of stand do i need to use to prevent any horrible tip-overs?

I was wondering what exactly the mic setup was for john bonham. I know that they used 3 mics. I think they used one out front, one behind him about shoulder high and one overhead? Is anyone familiar with this? And what kind of mics did they use?
