I've been reading with interest all the tributes to Recorderman's 2 drumstick overhead configuration, but have been kind of set in my ways about drum recording for a while. Finally, on a session today I thought I'd take the plunge and revamp everything I ordinarily do.

Hi I'm new in this forum and I wanted to know if you can seek advice a good mic technique for electric guitars so much clean as distorted.
I should record a guitarist (I am used Steve Vai) and I would like you to advise me that mics to use for the recording (1 or 2 mics) and that mics position should use.
Also some mix tricks for the guitars

Hi I plan on making a big mic purchase (big for me) and would like opinionsfor a male vocal mic. I'm currenty thinking the Lawson 46 but am interested in others including BLUE mics, Sounddelux, etc. The AT 4060 looks tempting for the price but I want a really good mic?

Soes anybody have a source besides Al Grundy for Neumann SP 77 transfer console modules I need a Set of gain controls which are the W/476 and I need another W-430 module .

I'm using a Pro Tools Mix setup with Focusrite Red Pre's. I have 16 channels to use and some good mics: U87 and a pair o' km184's, 4 sm87's, and some stuff I use for live and "normal" applications such as 57's D112's and 58's...

I am planning to upgrade my signal chain for recording electric guitar. Couple of questions...and yes, I too am awaiting the RMMP...

What is the best mike for Micing a cabinet? I have using SM57's for awhile. They sound ok, but I guess I want something different. My preamp does need to be upgraded and I am currently using the RNC.

preferably not wildly pricey.

I'm looking for mics for my home recording setup. I want to do 2 things - record acoustic guitar duets with a modestly-priced matched pair, and record casual jams with whomever is in the room - acoustic guitar, mando, drums, amplified guitar or bass, etc. I'm looking at the Studio Projects C1 or C3 for the matched pair, and the AT4033 or 4050 for the room mic.
