I'm looking for a microphone best for recording sound effects.

What I want to record:
- SFX (lighting a match, breaking glass, balloon, etc)
- Vehicles (train, car engine, etc)
- Nature (birds, thunder, rain)
- Foley

Hi, I am always interested in recording for solo recitals / solo concerts untill recently I have the opportunity.

Usually the recording situation will be a soloist + a accompaniment.( violin + piano, clarinet + piano, french horn + piano,etc...)

As you can see the instruments range is quite large, so i need something that i versatile.

I keep seeing recommendations on the net for using two mics on a guitar cab at once. One dynamic mic close to the speaker cab while an ambient room mic is 4-8 feet away. When I try this, I run into phasing issues as expected. I suspect there is no way around the phase issue aside from correcting it in the daw, perhaps that is the point?

I am a hobbyist and have been recording with an AKG c1000 mic for a 5 or 6 years and feel like its time to try something new. I was breifly looking at a RODE NT1A which is around 250$, but am just beginning my search. Any suggestions?
It will mostly be for acoustic guitar (occasionally used for vocals).

This is a flyer, and one that I fear may annoy veterans, because I bet it's been asked a million times. But I can't find any of those answers, even though I've used your advanced search engine.

EDIT: I HAVE PERMANENTLY ABANDONED THE HOME STUDIO PROJECT...JUST WAY TOO INVOLVED FOR MY LIMITED AMOUNT OF FREE TIME.
