AKG C 391 B vs. AT4051
Hi,
I have the possibility to buy a pair of Akg C 391 B or two AT4051.
Both quite the same price (around 400€), the AT4051 slightly cheaper.
One question: are they both true condensor mics, i.e. no electret?

Good Quality "universal' mic clip
i ran into a situation yesterday where i almost had to compromise audio quality for mic placement, on a snare drum, thankfully it was an almost. but that made me realize the studio doesn't have an adjustable mic clip, that takes the typical mic clip thread. it'd be great to have one in case...
anyone got some suggestions?

Mic type for race car recording - inside a large race shop?
I'd like to ask for some advice on a test recording project that I'll be very likely be tackling.
Two mics on guitar -- avoiding phase cancellation but new problem arises
Hi. If I Micing a guitar amp, and I set one mic close and the other back, which creates a tonal blend preferred by the musician, I put a delay on the first mic so that the signals are coming to the board simultaneously to avoid phase issues. I checked the wav files and they are aligned -- as well as using my ears. Sonically, all is well.
Ambient mic questions--didgeridoo recording project
Hi, I'm recording a didgeridoo, tambourine, and clave one-man band (me:-) in a nice sounding reverberant building about 115'long x 50'wide x20'tall and I have a few questions for anyone with the time and expertise. In addition to my spot mics, I'm experimenting with a couple (identical cardiod LDC) ambient mics in different places.
Mic for metal vocal?
Hi to everyone!
I had read on many forums, that which is the best mic for the recording metal vocal...Everyone said the Shure sm7b, but this is expensive for me + I must buy a preamp too. The next mic they recommended is the Shure sm58. The other side say, the dynamic mics are sucks for recordings, and for the recordings is definitely best choice the condenser mics.

Single mic for one person performance vocals and acoustic guitar
Hi all,
Thanks for your help in advance...
I haven't done this mic setup before; I have a small consult requested from a one person performer who travels and wants me to set up an easy use mixer and single mic to pick up both vocals and acoustic guitar that he can do himself.
