Best field recording mic for a backpack/budget
Hello!
Phantom Power mixing board for RODE nt1a?
I recently purchased a RODE nt1a studio condensor mic. The interface I planned on using doesn't have phantom power and this was a mistake on my part. I do have a mixing board with phantom power, but it is typically used for live sound. If this would power the mic, I just need a usb adapter but if it doesn't I need a new interface.

Using phone to record gig for social media, mic overloaded
Hi
I'm new here. I'm an Internet marketer, and one of the things I do is gig and festival promotion in a social media style, ie. hand-held, and as 'live' as possible. To do 'live' video snippets through the day I use a Samsung Galaxy S2 phone (Android).
choosing mics for recording studio
Im want to build a good studio. A family has a band that has been successful. I would like to build a studio to help them as well as mess around in for my own pleasure. Problem is i have absolutely no experience AT ALL!
I know a mic is very important and a sound board. I have pro tools 10 software already unopened.

real simple mic shootout
Did a mic shootout at my local Sam Ash. Not very scientific, or in a quiet room, but a test none the less. All mics were recorded holding the mic about 4in away from the mouth, just straight into their Avid Pro Tools interface, recorded to PT10, 24bit/48khz. Mics were leveled out so that level variances didn't affect the way you heard the mic.

Crowd Mics Need to Raise/Lower
I'm about to hang some 57s over our church congregation to pick up some crowd noise, but the facility is also a gym, so ideally, I need to be able to raise and lower them 5-10 feet so I can get a good mic placement on Sundays, but fly them out of the way for weekly basketball use. Has anyone ever had to do anything similar, or have any ideas?

DPA Microphones
introducing the DPA Reference Standard Microphones
I personally use DPA mics and they are incredible. I have a matched pair of 4011 with the optional 2006 interchangeable Omni capsules. So I have both Cardioid and Omni at a bargain. Wow I say.

What microphone? Help!
Hi
I am a vocalist in quite a successful function rock/pop band. Typical set up really. Drummer (a loud one - aren't they all?), bass, electric guitar, and keyboards (the keyboard player swaps on to a 2nd electric guitar occasionally. I play acoustic.

Church Microphone help choosing
Hi. I record the sermons at church. A definite upgrade I'm looking for is the microphone. The mics we currently have sound fine enough in terms of quality, but their pickup is awful. Also, they make a TON of noise when even remotely touched anywhere, even on the handle!
