I'm using cool edit pro to record, and i just realized when i say words with hard "k" sounds, like "cool" or "cat", it sounds bad in the mic, does anyone know how to fix that?:mad:

I need a mic like this, but this type seems very poor
Does anybody know something about it ?
I mean something cheap. I don't need Schoeps, that is too expensive to me...

I have kept most of my mics boxed and in a gun safe with silica gel for years; there is usually one mic hanging and that is covered with a Captain Morgan or Crown Royal velvet bag.

My tracking room isn't really ideal for tracking loud guitars, so I was thinking of ways to reduce room influence. I absolutely hate the idea of putting heavy blankets over the cab and mic though because a. once you get your mic position perfect, the blanket might nudge it out of position b. if you need to move the mic it becomes a hassle and c. it probably affects the tone of the recording.

I am looking for a new vocal mic. I currently have a RODE ntk but not crazy about it. Seems a little to harsh. Any suggestions for under 500 dollars?
(style is similar to coldplay/u2 stuff.)

I was considering the Shure SM7B or avantone cv-12. Any other suggestions or thoughts?

I hope I'm posting this in the correct area.

I've been recording a band in six 5hr sessions recently, there style is oriented around thrash metal and so I chose microphones in accordance for the drums, but I think I can get a better sound.
Current choices:

Its called live sound techniques but a lot of this could also be a great help in the recording studio.

It covers things like Pick up patterns, Placement and even things like NAG Equations.
