I have a Breedlove C25/CR and want to record a few songs. Just wondering what a good mic would be to do this.

I've experimented with my Shure 57 and MXL 990 with various mic placements, but can't seem to get a "hot" enough track without distorting. I'm also having problems with keeping a steady volume level with the dynamics of my playing.

I'm recording a band with quite a shrill sounding vocalist.

• Its high, scream y, and screechy.
• I have a C414 that goes through a Great River MP-1NV into a PreSonus interface into logic.
• I am considering getting something else to soften, and improve the week spots of the vocals.

I was wondering if I have 2 mics connected to my audio interface which is connected to my computer, can I also connect a mic directly into the computer's microphone jack and record all 3 mics onto the DAW (Cubase/Audacity) simultaneously? I ask this question because I haven't gotten my mics yet or else I would have tried it out.

Has anyone done a sound comparison with the Shure beta 52a with a pg52? I have the opportunity to pick up the 6 piece PG set for close to the same price as a single beta 52a. Opinionsout there?

This summer I am planning to buy a new condenser microphone for my studio. (I am using a MXL990 right now) I am willing to spend $350 max but if it would be worth it I could probably spend more. I would like it to be as versatile as possible so I can get my money's worth out of it.
