Pro Tools 10 issue

So i am using a Sony vaio laptop that works great. My interface (saffire pro 24) works great, and my monitors (Yamaha hs50's) are fine as well. Now my issue is that after having Pro Tools open for more than like 15 minutes, everything i play back has a bunch of fuzz. The vocals sounded fine one second and then after a time frame, everything is complete crap.

v3101 update - cool it works.

I bit the bullet and figured out what the pinouts were on the rear connectors of this unit and what kind of power supply it would need. It turns out that it has internal voltage regulators for b+, b-, and the metering b+ all 15 volt. I searched through my junk pile and found an old vcr. I scrapped the transformer for a center tapped unit and modified the circuit board to pump out 24v +-.

Really Touch Decision

Im trying to upgrade my setup and over the last few days I have done hours of research and everyone is suggesting different things

I currently have the m-audio firewire solo with the Audio-Technica at3035

I have under $1,000 to spend and wanted to spend it on a good preamp

Then I heard since I'm using the Firewire Solo, the quality will still be horrible

Video on using plugins and the difference they can make

Featuring Jen Calder's song Catylist. We worked together to put a band-style recording even though she doesn't have a band (not even a bass guitar). Just a few plugins made the difference. Check it out here. All plugins are bypassed to start with and I bring them in one by one. Enjoy :)
