A few months ago I purchased a Lexicon reverb unit. It's sound is exactly what I want in reverb, it's perfect for my music. The problem is that my mixing environment is digital ("in the box"), and I can't apply the Lexicon reverb to every intrument the way I do inside Cubase.

Neglecting dithering (because we know this should be the last plug when mastering) does the order of effects make any difference? Does it matter if effect X comes before or after effect Y in say Cubase's effects inserts. If so, any actual examples would be greatly appreciated.

I have to confess that I often have difficulty telling whether my compressor plugins are actually functioning. I do not hear them the same way as I hear an outboard compressor in a guitar rig. Is this typical? Are plugin compressors more subtle? Does anyone else have difficulty hearing their plugin compressors at times?

Background:

I am confused by the mastering plugins. Can any comp/limiter be used to boost levels during mastering, or does one need a dedicated mastering plug in?

I have $3000 (maybe a little more) that I'm going to use to upgrade my mic or preamp...or both. Considering that I have the following, what would you recommend I upgrade, and to what?

Hey all, since I uninstalled Automap from my computer by dragging it from the applications folder to the trash, I cannot start Logic without it crashing (Pro 9 if it makes any difference). I did some looking around and it turns out I should have done a few things in Automap before deleting it, but I have since replaced it and done those things etc, all to no avail.

hey i have two Ddrum on red shot triggers on my kicks and i need them to go to my EZDrummer VST in Cubase 5... buut it only accepts midi ins and i cant make my outs on the channels go to the EZDrummer channel. help please? lol

Can some one suggest a good website that provides current blue book values for buying and selling used audio gear?

All the ones I've found already either charge money or don't specialize in audio gear. I've used Ebay before - but of course it doesn't really give the blue book value - only a general idea.
