My m-powered Pro Tools has 12db before clipping on the faders, i know the HD version has like 20db or so. What does logic have?

If I don't have a Didgedesign (or M-Audio) interface, is there a way to hack Pro Tools LE (or even M-Powered) to tell it that the interface I have connected is Didgedesign (or M-Audio)? I have an E-MU 0404USB, and I'm on a Mac.

Why do people use Audacity when there are DAW programs? I mean, if you are recording in today's world, aren't we all using some sort of dedicated DAW program that already has audio editing options? or, is this an open source sample editing software? If so, I then get it. but.

So it looks like the aux outs only work in stereo pairs in the m-audio software mixer

I wish i could have have 8 separate headphone mixes, or atleast 6 and then my main playback monitors in stereo

I've been messing around with a small personal studio setup for about a year now. I started off using Audacity, and then picked up Pro Tools M-Powered Essentials with the 49 key MIDI keyboard. Lately, I've been very frustrated with the software, since it will only allow me to record two channels at a time.

There will be more old, dated, obsolete, used ... Pro Tools systems in the buy and sell or like me, collecting dust in the closet.

I finally though of a good use for my old $20,000 Pro Tools Mix ++ system. An elaborate 8 channel monitor mixing system might be worth looking at.

What things have you thought of using your old Pro Tools gear for?

I've noticed that a lot of sound level meters on the market work within a frequency range of 100 - 8000 hz.

What's the principle behind this? Even some of the more expensive ones only seem to offer this narrow range.

Ya... I'm finally setting up my acoustic room and need to get the headphones happening in there. My main system is the Dangerous Monitor ST but i'm still waiting on VOVOX cable to enter North America so its on stand still.
