If anyone needs any help mixing and mastering.

Hi, ive been mixing and mastering and recording for about 2 years now, I'm not a vet at this, I'm still learning but ive learned a lot through much trial and error and would like to reach out and share or help anyone needing assistance with their projects as i would like to be able to reach out to some vets for help and info when i need it...

Compression and limiting - still struggling with first principles.

Although I have read about the difference between the two, I am still struggling. I do know that limiters have higher compression ratios, but could that be all there is to know? If I had a clear example of two situations, one where compression was the right tool, and the other where a limiter was, I might be able to find my way out of the dark.

Melodyne sync problems with Cubase 5

Hi! Recently upgraded to Cubase 5 and now have Melodyne.

But Melodyne and Cubase won't sync on playback. Xfer to Melodyne via the Bridge in Cubase seems no problem - great quality, low CPU load, multiple tracks sync together. But they are all out of sync upon playback.

Even if I do no editing at all in Melodyne, they just won't play back in sync.

I need the poor man's Waves Stereo enhancer- Any ideas?

My mix sounds good, but is a bit wide. Yes, I could fiddle and pull each track more towards the center, but I understand there are plugins like the S1 that can pull the mix to the center, i.e., folding everything in proportion, right down to mono if need be. I need a plugin like this, but on a budget.

Are there any other options out there?
