Ok here is the question:
I have recorded a song put it on CD and want to do some editing. My friend got me a copy of Audacity and it will not take my file because it isn't an mp3 or wave file, but instead is uncompressed audio. So, I can't get it into the program. Is Audacity any good for doing final editing? If so, how do I convert my song to an mp3 or wav file?

I saw a lot about this when it was initially released, but now I can't find who's got one anywhere...

Any impressions of it?

Any Comparison to the LA-2A, especially on bass or vocal?

Alrighty...I'm going to raise $12,000 to buy some nice analog and A/D front end for my personal Studio. If you have 12K, what would you buy as the ultimate front end for the price. I'll try to get bargan prices on ebay and buying local since my area (San Francisco bay area) seem to have lots of equipment floating around.

Ive been dubbing for TV in the UK for the last 13 years on various AMS Audiofile systems.

Now, with a move to a new facility Im setting up Im taking a serious look at Pro Tools!

I have had Monster cabels in my studio for about three years now! I have 2 pairs of 1000 series for instuments (guitar,bass,keyboard) and 500 series on all outboard gear and my 2 eight tracks. I have a few 1000 series for mics and 500 series for the rest.

I am just wondering is it worth to spend money on driverack or spend money on acoustic treatment of my room.My room is very small(2,5mx3,5mx2,1m)and not treat at ALL.
So can it really adapt my monitoring system in relation with my room?
