Practical Mixing Training
Does anyone know of any school or institute in the Bay Area (preferably San Francisco) where I can take a course in mixing?
I've found a few schools that offer online courses but I'm looking for a more hands-on approach to learning. I've read a few books by George Petersen and Jeff Strong but need practical training now as opposed to theoretical.

Opinions on 01v/96?
Hello!
Anybody tried the "new" Yamaha 01v/96?
I'm a user of a 02r, which I like quite a lot (if you forget a few stupid things here and there), and a 01v, which is also nice as a keyboard mixer but...
I have to buy a digital mixing board for my studio; the 02r or 01v won't run faster than 48 kHz, so I'm not really happy investing in that...

How's The Nightlife on Cissalda?
Heh heh, this thread was originally going to be titled "How's the Music Scene in Australia?", but it reminded me of a title of a short story I read when I was a teenager (HUGE bonus points if anyone can name the author) and so...

Any plans to...
Ok, a bit of a tease on the topic title, but hey, hey what can I say?
Sebatron -
Are you going to continue making all your gear by hand, or do you plans to go larger scale and get a factory going? From your posts it sounds like you have tons of stuff to get out. Doc

Backup & Archiving projects - is it DVD-R or DVD-RAM
Hi,
"Science" vs. . . "Perception"
Hi Sebatron ,
Welcome!
I enjoy discussing thoughts about the design process for equipment, and was wondering if you could share your views on the balance between "scientific" measurement versus "using 'yer ears" in the lab.

dp vs. . cubase
I see that there are a lot of Cubase users here but not too many seem to use dp.
what are the pros and cons between these two systems and what is the system of choice.
I really do not intend on using midi tracks
