Are you experienced?
I found an interesting article online written by Steve Albini called "The Problem with the Music Industry." Although it's written from a fairly opinionated and bitter point of view, it is a worthy read.

Removing plosives in a mix
Hi all. I was wondering something about plosives. I've got a couple of them at the beginning of a song and they're fairly minor and weak so I think I'm going to try to compress them or EQ them out - but out of curiousity, can anyone tell me if mastering will be able to help. I've heard that they're sometimes better handled by a good mastering engineer. Any comments?

Pultec Eq
After having not used it for a few months, I have come back around to this guy. It does a good job as long as you don't need it to be too surgical. I finally have my head around the technique of boosting and cutting the high-endat the same time (which the Pultec was designed to do).

Which Mac for Pro Tools?
I am planning on buying a Mac laptop to run Pro Tools on. I know that I need an extra drive which I will add via firewire. Which Mac will work the best? I am thinking I should get it with a recordable DVD and CD drive. I will interface the computer via an MBox. I have always used PC but I think it might be wise to switch over to the Mac system to run Pro Tools.

importing into Sonar 2.2XL
Ive been using FL Studio to create beats for my songs and importing them into songs in Sonar 2.2XL. But after importing a few waves, Sonar will start to speed up the wave while importing. if I try the same beat in mp3 format instead it will import at the right tempo but will add loud "pops". I tried playing the same files in winamp with no problems.

Define Valve
Hey Seb, forgive my ignorance. Is "Valve" a buzz word for channel or does it actually define a tech term?
