Hey folks,

I have always had problems de-essing. I cant seem to get it to work right. People tell me to de-ess around 1.6 - 3k. BUt the freqs i hear jumping out are higher like 6 - 8k. I have a Avalon 737, which should de-ess perfectly, according to the manual. By time I get the comp to kick in on the esses its kicking in on all kinds of stuff.

I've had this problem a couple times before, but after a recent
reinstall/latest drivers 'house cleaning,' it's popping up even more.

I am going off to music school soon and I will be living in a cheap, college owned apartment from which I plan to run my demo production business. This is a rather unsecure apartment in a very populated area where theft is quite prevalent. It seems that I am in need of some type of insurance policy, but I have no idea where to begin looking, how much I will have to pay, etc.

Hi ya folks I have just recently dived into recording my music at home. I record vocals and "some" guitar at home through a AT 4050 mic, RNP preamp, and Echo Mia soundcard. The rest of the music is done at a local studio. I have to say that the quality and fidelity I get from my signal chain is really amazing.

the damndest thing. come in for a session, they arent working. been a busy week in that particular control room, lots of young-ens. everything seems to be good, but the faders arent sliding up...even in the vegas test mode. seems to be a hardware problem, not software. does anyone know anything?

I'm about to update my DAW and was seriously considering buying a Pro Tools HD system. Then i started checking out the alternatives and got amazed/confused... I need a powerful, rock solid system (in combination with my analog gear) for my work as a producer. This is what I found out:

Aside from storage, what would be the space that you would like to add to your studio, assuming that it would justify expenses.
