Pro Tools DSP chip 100% "allocated"

I've just spotted this after maxing out my Mix+ system with a pretty complex session. In the system usage screen, it looked like one of the DSP chips was free even though I was getting out of DSP errors. However, a mouse click on the chip resulted in it turning red and the message 100% appearing. Allocated to what? I'd normally expect to see something a bit more descriptive.

fast thru-put with new DualG4s?

I am looking to graduate from a Beige G3, utilizing an adaptec 2940U2W card with a Lacie LVD9.1Gb scsi, to a new Dual 1Ghz G4. My concern is that the 2940 adaptec card is not supported in the new Quicksilver. Hence, I am trying to figure what kind of MB/sec the new mac is likely to give me with its' stock, 80GB ATAharddrive?

compression. killing your mixes?

Ok so I'm not a huge fan of crazy amounts of compression, but people want a lot of it, especially when you record mostly heavy rock like i do.

My problem is I feel like compression and limiting dont seem to take well to my mixes. When i get stuff back from mastering its still not INCREDIBLY loud, but i can hear all the compression artifacts and feel like my mix fell apart.
