G4 & Digital Performer: configurations and their cap
I've been trying to figure out what PC (Mac or Intel) to get. Initially I will be recording
- a cappella
- 1 to 3 tracks at a time
- will easily get up to 24 tracks so I would like like the capacity to have at least 48
- not sure how many plugins I will want on each track (due to my inexperience with all of this)
Marshall V67 vs. . AT 3035
What you guys think about those? I like AT a lot, solid built mics. I have a pair of 3525 and I love'em. I had a MXL 2001 and I have a 603s... I like'em too but not as much as the ATs. can you guys help me with this one?

Any Noodles users?
Noodles = Nuendo as deemed by Jules.
I've been using it for surround mixing. It's actually quite nice with the UA PPI card. I don't mix entirely inside of it though. I use the digi or analog console dejour for ease of interface with preferred processors (API 2500, TC 6000, etc.) and the improved summing.
:D

Hip-Hop Music
I'v been producing Hip-Hop for a couple of years now and have some questions that i cant seem to find anywhere so here they go:
What type of compression and how much should i use on hip hop vocals?
What type of compressors work best on both vocals and electronic drums from drum machines and keyboards?
How much reverb should be used on those same vocals?

Emagic Wavelab Pro for assembling a CD?
I was wondering has anyone used The Emagic Wavelab Pro program(Mac) for editing stereo material? It looks like its pretty thought out and it has a lot of features that other programs don't. Thanks.

documentation
hey all,
just curious as to what level of documentation you go to on your projects...day to day, tracking, mixing, etc,
general routing? -> settings? -> gas prices?
cheers

Thanks Everyone
...for helping me with my mic preamp debate.
After much research online, I ordered an Earthworks LAB 102 last nite. My Soundelux U195 will FINALLY be happy!

Mackie MDR vs. . SDR?
Anyone know what the actual difference is between the MDR and SDR models of HD recorders? The SDR isn't even on the Mackie website yet, but some stores are apparently selling it at the same price as the MDR (approx. $2000).
Thanks.
