Sonar vs. . Pro Audio 9

OK, so I've gotten all the propaganda from Cakewalk telling me how badly I need to upgrade to Sonar. I have to admit I've only read some of it, because it's usually just too much and I'm too busy to actually sit there for an hour and read all the gory details. Besides, I'm really not all that bright. can anyone give me a real comparison of the significant differences?

Thanks!

pricing

how do yall deal with yr pricing and payment situations?

example: currently, i'm charging $35/hr recording/editing time [i hate editing]. and then i am charging flat rate for mixing [i haven't been mixing as long as i've been doing tracking, so i take my time to get it right].
i'm only charging $150 per mix [when i recording the thing].

Recording School or Not?

Seems to me that most people that I know that went to recording school dont know what they are doing, when I comes to recording with presence and character. How many of the pros out there went to recording school? how hard is it to make it for someone that didnt go to recording school? i'm really young, and people say that my mixes beat a lot of the semi-pros out there.

where do you start?

i just wonder where the folks like to kick their recordings from, ie click track/solo guitar/gtr + base/drums + base + gtr/the full band/czukay's manager ecg tracing/etcetera

i understand that there are no rules, but there are preferences

some say that a threesome will provide the most stable rhythm, any opinions?
