firepod or saffire pro10
Forums
iv been looking into 8ch preamps to replace my 2ch mbox2 and i first came across the firepod, which seems perfect for me, but recently i discovered the saffire pro10 by focusrite. the firepod is 100euro cheaper but iv heard the Focusrite preamps are better quality. can anyone compare the two for me maybe of give me some insight on the saffire pro?

Cubase crashing with multi midi tone generator
Forums
hi,
How many of you guys actually do this for a living?
Forums
I'm just curious if anyone with a home studio makes their living off of it.
I'm about to buy my first house (stoked on that, first of all!) and build my first OFFICIAL studio (even more stoked on that!)
So I'm just wondering how you guys are doing. I don't really plan on making all my money from this, but hey, if I could that would be great.
Collaboration Projects (Rights)
Forums
In the past I collaborated on making an instrumental with another person. This was a sample-based instrumental that I have not attained clearance for. I created a beat and the other person basically just slowed it down and changed the drums. He had one of his friends record on it and it turned out great.

Recording grand piano in a church
Forums
I have to record my next classical solo piano recital (Mozart, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff) in a small-medium sized church, in which reverb could be a problem.
The piano will be a steinway concert grand and I have at my disposal 2 Neumann km 183 (omni) matched, 2 schoeps cmc5 mk4 (not matched) and 2 schoeps cmc5 mk 21 (not matched).

positioning of overheads
Forums
Hi Guys,
My question is mainly in regards to spaced pair.
The more I read about OH drum Micing the more I read that both mics should be the same distance away from the snare drum to avoid any phasing problems and keep the snare in the centre of the stereo image.
