Focusrite Saffire? M-Audio MBox 2, Firewire?
Forums
I've seen a lot of topics and replies talking about the PreSonus Series Firebox, Firepod, Firestudio, but no one really talks about the Focusrite Saffire, LE, and Pro or the M-Audio Firewire Solo, 410 and 1814, and the MBox 2, mini and Pro?
So I'm just asking what do you think about them?

Need sounds badly!
Forums
I'm running Logic 7.2
But i really desperately need more sounds. More synths, instruments strings and all kinds of sounds.. Where do you guys get yours?
Do you have recommendations for some that you already know of and use that you think i would benefit from.
I really really need to get my sound library pumped in a massive way as right now it's plain pathetic.

Guitar Compressor?
Forums
I want to use a compressor for my guitar, but I need some tips on what might work.
Most guitar amps compress the signal from the guitar. This happens mostly in the power amp stage of the amp. It is caused by the power supply sagging when the guitar drives the amp hard.

Question about firewire interfaces
Forums
Hi. I currently work with an M-audio 1010LT. Not high-endI know. I would definitely like to have at least 16 channels of I/O into my DAW and have looked at many ways to achieve this. MOTU seems to be the first thing that comes to mind in the PCI arena. There are also a lot of firewire interfaces with up to 8 channels like the PreSonus stuff and Alesis.

buying a converter .. ahhhh.. help
Forums
Sorry to flog this dead horse again, but I was all set to buy the Apogee Ensemble. Then I read about coloration (CSI). What? Really? Is that just output or right in the track? Weird. I had one spoken for in an order, now I feel afraid.
So somebody mentioned the Lavry Blue?

Micing an upright bass?
Forums
I am going to be recording an upright bass for a rockabilly/ska type band. The bass has a pickup and he plays thru a GK amp and a GK 4X10 cabinet. I don't think I will have a hard time capturing the low end, but I am not sure what I should do to capture that signature rockabilly snap from the strings. . Would simply Micing the strings with a condenser do it or is there a better method?
