Hello,
I am an engineer who is very familiar with Pro Tools and use it mainly with VO, so I don't need much processing. So. I'm not too knowledgeable about outboard processing, what order they need to be linked, etc. .so i need to set up a home studio with : Dell Desktop (new)
Cool Edit Pro
MXL condenser mic
MDX 2600 (compressor,gate,EQ)

What's up with Behringer?
Forums
Hi,
I've recently started looking into recording gear (about 3 months now), and I've read dozens and dozens of forums and reviews saying that Behringer isn't good... my question is why do most of the people think that? and what's your guess of the best mixer brand in the same very low price range?

Can a Digi 192 box be used as a standalone coverter?
Forums
Has anyone here used a 192 box as a converter without connection to a computer. Can it do this and pipe audio out the digital connectors to elsewhere?

Buying Home Studio Gear (Need Help!)
Forums
Hi,
I need some advice on what gear i should buy to help me record at home, have already have speakers and a computer, but i need some advice on what mixer (or something like that) to record with. On the mixer i will need about 8 mic inputs, for a drum kit! I'm looking to spend about £200-300.
If anyone can help that would be great.
Thanks
Lewis

Digital Cables...
Forums
I know it's important to have good cables.
I use Monster and Belden cables for all analog signal.
And I bought the Apogee digital cable to connect my Apogee Rosetta 200 to Digi 001.
Should I found any improvement?

Tell me I'm not a complete fool.
Forums
Ok, I've had a USB MBox for a while, loved it, and just today received my 002 Rack in the mail that I upgraded to. Super pumped. My only issue is that my laptop only has the FireWire 4-pin connector. And no, don't ask me why I didn't check.
Can I convert the FW 6-pin 002R output cable to 4-pin and be ok?
Please tell me this will be ok. eeeeek!

Studio Contract Help
Forums
Hey guys, long time browser, seldom poster here. After much delayed construction and a few setbacks, my little studio is finally about to get its first clients. I've been sitting here at work trying to write up a reasonable standard contract to give my clients and I thought I'd ask for some opinions:

FX Send/Return vs. . . PreAmp Out/In
Forums
I was looking at the back panel of this Fender Pro Reverb,
and it has both Effects Send/Return AND PreAmp Out/In jacks.
I was wondering what circumstances the Effects Send/Return
would be used instead of the PreAmp Out/In.
Or if there is a situation where both would be used?
