Outboard gear Question!

Hello,
I am an engineer who is very familiar with Pro Tools and use it mainly with VO, so I don't need much processing. So. I'm not too knowledgeable about outboard processing, what order they need to be linked, etc. .so i need to set up a home studio with : Dell Desktop (new)
Cool Edit Pro
MXL condenser mic
MDX 2600 (compressor,gate,EQ)

Turning my basement in to a studio - need advice.

Hello guys, it's my first post here! I have a question.
I have a basement that I'm putting new drywall into, and I'm turning into a studio. Now, what should I buy to go along with it?
I've got:

A computer, and Cubase to go with it.

MXL 990 Microphone

Guitar rig 2 for guitars and bass

Drum Set

Buying Home Studio Gear (Need Help!)

Hi,

I need some advice on what gear i should buy to help me record at home, have already have speakers and a computer, but i need some advice on what mixer (or something like that) to record with. On the mixer i will need about 8 mic inputs, for a drum kit! I'm looking to spend about £200-300.

If anyone can help that would be great.

Thanks

Lewis

Tell me I'm not a complete fool.

Ok, I've had a USB MBox for a while, loved it, and just today received my 002 Rack in the mail that I upgraded to. Super pumped. My only issue is that my laptop only has the FireWire 4-pin connector. And no, don't ask me why I didn't check.

Can I convert the FW 6-pin 002R output cable to 4-pin and be ok?

Please tell me this will be ok. eeeeek!
