I was seriously looking at getting this. I really don't have money to spend. But I'm going to look into this. I'm going to plop down another gig of memory in my computer first.

Sorry if this is really basic, but if I got hold of a synth like a Korg MicroKorg , would I be able to plug it straight into my marshal guitar amp?

Almost done with my new DAW. Just one more question:

My Zalman 7700Cu CPU cooler can do 1000 - 2000 rpm. According to the Zalman website it should be safe to run at 1000rpm for all processors. (From what I've read the AMD 64 run pretty cool any way)

What do you guys recommend. Right now I have Edirol MA10's and I HATE them.

I have a pair of Electro-Voice Sentry 100a monitors. I have never had passive monitors before so I don't know what kid of amp to buy.

So far I've been thinking about getting a Marantz 250 but haven't been able to score one.

I'd appreciate any suggestions on different amps I should look into also.

Been cruising several sites and reading a lot discussion regarding keeping levels significantly below 0db to the tune of -15db peak verses something along the lines of -3db which is what I would have expected to be the norm.

Is this relating to Input levels? Playback levels? Output bus level? The idea is that higher levels introduce any number of issues. Can any one elaborate?

Like many of the people on this board, I'm interested in upgrading my studio equipment -- but only if I have to. My problem is that I'm not really aware of what's out there and what I might want or need.
