I am wondering if anyone uses floor speakers as monitors. I was looking around today and found some good deals on some Boston Acoustic cr85 bookcase speakers and a Klipsch f1 set of floor speakers. Has anyone used either of these? Are you satisfied? Would anyone recommend another set of speakers?

i have about 7 songs written with music to it too and i want to start recording them i have ADOBE AUDITION 1.5 which allows me to record stuff but what other things do i need so i can plugin my guitar and a mic? thx p.s it would help if someone knew the program(ADOBE AUDITION 1.5)

I can't decide on one or the other. I can get them for the same price. It will be used mostly for vocals. It will be a backup mic for acoustic guitar too.

I have a groove tubes brick preamps and m-audio octane.

I really can't decide on which would be a better sounding mic(setting my vocal style beside)

Sorry I am just a beginner in home recording.

I am using a SM57 connected to my cheapo mAudio sound card. Whenever I tried to record anything on my acoustic guitar, the result is extremely soft recording. I can only hear it by increasing the volume by 400%, which produced a lot of hissing.

Ok. So I've upgraded my recording setup. I originally had a Roland VS-880EX and... that's it. Decent mics... a few D112s, 57s, some large diaphragm condensers. Not much but it sounded quite good.

I've just bought a Mackie 24/8, a MOTU 24io, a capable PC setup, and a few Aphex compressors. The whole setup is Mogami wired.

I am looking to buy some transparent mic preamps and
am considering the Sytek. I've read that Aerosmith (big deal) and the Seattle, Chicago and somewhere else orchestras bought them.

How would you guys describe the sound of these two mics?
Are they truly awesome or are they semi-pro mics?

I'm thinking of buying 1 each for some variation on overheads
and acoustic guitar..
