Kind of a tubular question here. I have my own thoughts on this but want to hear what others think.

Would a hi-fi tube preamp and set of tube power amps be good for driving studio monitors and delivering a flat accurate sound?

I have been using this unit along with a Demeter preamp for about a year. It's killer. Lately, channel A has lots of noise and channel B is fine. Do I need to replace the tubes? Or is it some costlier problem? Does anyone have experience with this unit?

i've been told i need one of these to bring up my RMS levels, cause they've been too low. Anybody know where i can get these and how much they cost? also, which one would you prefer?

Is there a large recording performance difference between the D112 and the Beta 52? I've heard lots of people recommending the D112.

I'm looking for the simplest thing possible to let me use my Alesis HR-16 (because it's the simplest thing possible and I'm the simplest thing possible), but get better drum sounds. The idea of MIDI'ing it to an Alesis DM5 seems like the obvious answer.

I am interested in these 2 different options for my FX. I feel like I am starting to hear some CPU sputtering in my mixes...its very slight but annoying none the less. Which are the best and will the cheaper models have the same processing power as the mor expensive models?

1. I prefer a front head but with a decent size whole. I think the best place for the whole slightly of center horizontally but centered vertically.

2. Place Mic 3-5 inches away from inside head. I usually end up pointing the mic half way between the beater and rim, centered horizontally.

3. Use a pillow for dampening.

This is probably a long shot, but has anyone considered trying to setup a group buy for API or Neve preamps?

I was thinking we could go in for some 3124's, API Lunchboxes with the cards, Seventh Circle Audio clones, or some Neve clones.
