Focusrite TwinTrack Pro to Tascam FW-1884
Forums
In an unrelated post, marsvolta posed this question, and I'm very interested in hearing the answer as I am doing something similar...I'm running into a Focusrite TT Pro, to a dbx266xl and then into my Tascam FW-1884 to get the signal into my computer.

No escaping the truth!
Forums
I've been whinging on for a few years about not having the right equipment to make great sounding tracks.
I've now upgraded my gear and really got to grips with how it works. I've spent hours everyday reading and practicing techniques.
Only one problem has now become apparent...
MY SONGS SUCKASS!

Please help me choose an audio interface for my iBook
Forums
I'll need it to record on my 1.2GHz iBook, so far I've used Logic Express but would like to try different hosts. I'll never use more than one input at a time, either guitar, mic, or MIDI, so a high number of simultaneous inputs and outputs isn't relevant. I guess it also means that I can make do with USB 1.0.
RME HDSP9652...great card for PC and CHEAP!

and midi...all the reviews I have read say these are the best audio interfaces for PC recording...if anyone is interested and needs one I got a killer price on mine and can get u one...

I'm impressed with Behringer
Forums
their new GDI21 is a pretty decent sansamp knockoff for 30$.
i was curious about DI for recording since my gear isn't so on par for recording, its mostly for live/practice purposes. gives a pretty clear tone for the type of modeling it does (high gain recto style).
not that i would use it to produce a CD, but for personal band recordings its a lot easier.

New 414s
Forums
Hi all
I posted on this topic when this forum started, but nobody had tried them at that stage -and there were fewer contributors then. Has anybody tried them, and if so, how they compare to previous versions?
I'd love to know how they compare to mics such as the Neumann TLM-170.

How to hook Seb's to my DAW?
Forums
OK! I have a powerbook G4 running, logic - using a PreSonus Firepod (already has pre's - poor ones).
BUT i want to get a VMP4000e.
The only way I know of getting the signal from the Seb pre to my computer is through the Firepod's channels 3 through 8 using 1/4 TRS input.. - so it runs
instrument/mic>VMP400e>Firepod>DAW

Sound Card Question
Forums
If you install a new sound card such as the M-Delta Audiophile 2496 PCI will your computer still use the onboard sound for your speakers and headphones for games and music or will there be a driver conflict?

MOTU 896HD
Forums
Hi all,
I'm new here. My name is Andrew and I've taken it upon myself to do the recording for my band. Currently, I'm using a DIGI002R on a PC desktop and trying to get it to work on my laptop(no such luck yet). I also have a Great River NV2 and a PreSonus Digimax LT.

Signal flow
Forums
I route the signal the following way:
1. Mic
2. snake
3. Behringer UB2442FX Mixer
4. Digi 002Rack
5. Computer
If you get a decent preamp, will it be better to ignore the mixer (I know Behringer stuff is not good at all), and just go directly to the digi002 through the preamp (via ADAT for example) and use the mixer for monitoring only?
