Live choral recording on a tight budget

My choir is preparing for a spring concert, and I - as the hifi nut around - have been assigned the task of researching how to do a decent recording of the event. We are on an extremely tight budget (I couldn't even get a figure from our head of finances) - so we are really talking next step up from nothing.

Yet another Nearfield Monitor Thread

I've read through the existing monitor threads but would like to add details about my setup/future setup, music style and budget so I can get the best information.

So I've got a few outboard preamps. I'm thinking of getting the Digidesign 002 with built in pres into the console. Im looking for something used to record with. 24/96, maybe 6 inputs (dont
necessarily need XLR inputs) . With breakout box (maybe rack mounted) that
interfaces to PC via PCI card. I saw an Aardvark Q10 that seemed a good
choice but they are out of business now I guess.
(Its ok if a product is discontinued but I prefer to have company still

Need advice for Monitors - Amplifier - Console connection...

First of all, i'm an amateur/hobbyist in the field so my knowledge is somewhat limited...

I have a Technics SU-Z22 Amplifier and I was thinking of buying a console(Soundcraft Compact-4) and a pair of Tannoy Reveals(passive - less money since I have the amplifier) for home recording.
