Books for Rhythms . any suggestions?

I'm looking for books that have multi-layered percussion instrument rhythms. The book I'm thinking of would have each instrument's part written out with suggestions on what combinations of instruments and/or rhythms work together to produce a "feel". There might be a section for Latin, African, Carribean or other ethnic styles.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

BR864 users out there!

I have recently purchased the boss br864 recording unit and have had some success with it. i have managed to work out laying tracks down, bouncing and mastering (with the (crap) manual and some organised guess work)!

I would now like to include the rythmn guide on my recordings but cannot work out how to do this.

Please help any die hard users out there :(

Urei 539

So i have two 27 band (odd?) urei 539s. They have terminal blocks on the back, however there are also 1/4" jacks. The manual i found doesn't indicate they have them so i'm thinking it was a custom job. So i hooked them up with unbalances TS cables and they wouldn't process, they just passed the audio through. Could it be that i must use TRS?

Vintech X81-Distressor or TUBE TECH comp . Killer VOX?

Hey all, planning towards new additions. Primary style Gospel-Hip-Hop, RAP, R&B, etc. Current pieces:

SP C1
MXL V69M
Focusrite ISA 428
MOTU 2408MKIII

I'm wanting to add to my pallete the Vintech X81 and either the TUBE TECH compressor or the Distressor. I also am locked on the Blues Kiwi and the AD card for the ISA.
