I recently reloaded my computer and started over from scratch (spyware issues). Before the reload my MOTU was working, but I always has a problem with it whistling. Although the whistling was much less frequent, maybe once every 2 or 3 minutes. I had XP as my operating system with no service packs.

I mix in a non treated room on Event Electronics TR6 monitors. I like the sound of my mixes even they dont ever stack up to the CDs I buy in a store(probably cause of my Mackie board). My mixes usually sound pretty good in my car and on my nice home stereo but why do they sound so terrible on pc speakers?

I'd just like to set something straight because it seems that quite a few of you have taken what I've said out of context.

I do not hate Behringer gear, however I choose not to use it myself anymore after a few different bad experiences with it due to build and sonic quality.

I found a good deal at MF online for a fostex package that includes a 16 track digital recorder, powered studio monitors and the like, I was wondering if I could get a PA set up usig the 16 track as the mixer and maybe buying some powerful Mackie or JBL powered 15' speakers.

How is it possible?

I have an ensoniq sampler from 1993 (asr10) which sounds MUCH better than my RME multiface.

And it is not because coloration or distortion, it simply sounds more "in front", a little bit smoother and warmer and fatter.

I made some tests recording both simple sinus tones and some very fat sounds from my old arp synthesiser.

Hello all. I'm a 23 year old vocalist and I just bought a mixer. It's a Behringer eurorack 1204FX-PRO. It has 99 preset vocal effects built into it such as delay, compressor, exciter, etc. I have a few questions and any help that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. I'll just fire away:

does a CD burner make a difference in sound or is it the software. ive got nero burning rom that came with my burner. its a 52x24x52x speed. i dont know the brand off hand but it was about 90/100$ i think. i didnt know if there were any "pro" burners out there that makes a difference? thanks a bunch! :D
