I am introducing a compressor-limiter into my setup. (The mixer/soundcard setup has worked all along.)
When I speak into a mic (that is going in through the mixer); I get levels on both the mixer and the compressor.

i currently mix all of my music ITB @ 44.1khz / 24bit in digital performer. (please no flame wars aboout ITB).

i'm interested in bouncing my tracks down at 88.2 so when i take them into Peak for final "mastering" i can use my plugs (UAD, Sony oxford, URS) at a higher sampling rate.. and then save back down to 44.1, 16bit (pow-r 3 dithering) for CD.

I was contacted by someone to ask if I'm familiar with EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). In a nutshell, this person wants me to record silence in their house and see if I would record spirits talking. I'm somewhat familiar with the techniques that the paranormal scientists use to do this, but I wanted to first find out from you guys if you think it is bogus.

does anyone know how to make this thing work, I have been messing with this unit for almost a week and still no luck, I am running a dell computer with windows xp.

I'm very new to recording anythong on a computer, and I got Cool edit 2000 with the studio plugin . It records fine, but when i go to record a second track while the first one plays, the timing gets messed up. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I have years of experience via my own recordings, magazines, forums. Anyone recommend any of the courses I've seen advertised (Moulton's golden ears, etc.) thanks.

I can't get Cubase to recognise the inputs on the Delta 66 as individual inputs, though the manual assures me that i should be able to.

If it is working would the inputs come up on the left menu thing?
it says "in: stereo in" there at the moment, with no other options to pick.

a friend of mine has a aardvark pro q10, he says its a very good card, i need suggestions if there are any other choices that lie in the budget i have.
i would really appreciate your help.
