Need to record classical guitar CD, have $300. What to buy?
Forums
Advanced player here with a newly purchased guitar from mangore.com
I need to make a CD by the end of the year, mostly classical recordings.
My sound card is sh*t, my $20 labtec mic just broke, and all I have is a MZ-R90 Sony MiniDisc player.
I have about $300 to spend.
Another Blumlein question - stereo bars
Forums
If you're using two figure-8 mics as a Blumlein array, and they're lightweight enough to mount together on a vertical stereo bar. does the bar itself cause any interference? Is it better to just use two booms for mic placement and leave the rear field open?

On Location: Headphones or Monitors?
Forums
When doing a remote gig do you guys use headphones for monitoring or bring a set of monitors? If headphones what type would you use for chamber group recording or jazz quartet? If monitors do you bring something big or small? I plan on doing some gigs inside a church as well as a school rehearsal room.

I have plenty of parts, how should I set up?
Forums
I am a graphic artist by trade and compose as a hobby. I used to use Cubase VST on Mac OS 9 but upgraded my computer to OS X 10.3.8. I would like to get new software but everything seems to processor hungry for my machine. I haven't made music in 6 months because of the upgrade. I know I can run in classic but that sucks IMO. Heres the equyipment list.

Bouncing to Disk
Forums
?
I mixed down 23 songs(sessions) for a hip hop mixtape over the weekend and 3 of the sessions would not bounce. Something about an 'Assertion'? I think it was in line 33. I'm still really frustrated not only because I had to send the sessions out to an Alesis Masterlink, but I also have no idea why those particular three sessions would not bounce.
