i'm currently using a Soundtracs solo 24 ( not logic ). It's a very basic console, 4 bus, 4/6 aux, 2 semi parametric mids etc...

I record with a Tascam msr24 ( 1" )

I need some advice on Active Monitors. My budget is around the £400 mark. I have looked at:

Event TR6 active monitors
KRK RP6 Bi-Amlified Active Nearfield Monitors

I was wondering if there are any decent amplifiers to power a set of monitor's for around $500 max. They are JBL 4312's. I would obviously like to step it up to something like a Bryston, but I simply can't. Saving up for something nice is not an option. This gear buying has to stop.

Can anyone out there give me a detailed but very basic (i know thats pretty stupid sounding) description of the M-S Micing arrangement? My professor today was talking about it, but i am still a little vague on what it's exact purpose is and everything. Anyone got a good description?

Ive been using Sonar 2XL and keeps locking up.. so I decided to try Cool Edit Pro.. Ive got it up and running, but I cannot for the life of me send Midi commands to my Korg M1 From my Casio WK-3000 thru Cool Edit pro... My Midi setup works Great with Sonar . I'm using a Apple Powerbook and I'm trying to record a CD in the Powerbook into logic as an audio recording so I can play about with it. Used to be able to do this using Cubase but I'm totally stumped. Tried it using my built in microphone which just records external sound, how do I record a CD? Many thanks in advance if you can help.

Hi. I have my whole studio ready to go except I dont know how much 4 inch foam to put above My drum platfoam. The platform is 8ft by 8ft 64 sq. feet. Please help if you have any suggestions.

Not fully understanding how latency issues are resolved I hesitate somewhat to ask this question, but my hope is that someone can help clarify what I'm not understanding.
